Day 5

Day 5 – Friday 15th November 2013

So last week I had a fantastic experience with One to One Support Services. They made me feel very welcome and I was completely blown away by the work that they do.

It was a genuinely eye opening week, and gave me some real perspective in my own life. It has been thought provoking and I have met some people that I’ll never forget.

On Friday, I met Maxine. Now Maxine is one of the most incredible people I have ever met. After a conversation with her (that you will be able to hear online very shortly) I found out that she was in fact allergic to water. I couldn’t believe how stoic and positive she was about life despite having this incredibly unusual illness. What blew me away is just how fantastic and well she looked, she is one of the most incredible people I’ve ever met, if not the most. She said that without One to One Support Service’s help, she wouldn’t be able to live the life that she currently can.

I also met Beth, another incredible person I am proud to have met. She spoke so positively about One to One, about how she can go on holiday, go to work and have the independence that would otherwise be impossible thanks to what they do. That seemed to be a recurring theme with all the people that One to One assist.

It has been a wonderful week, and my preconceptions about what a care company does have been blown out of the water. They do so much more than you think, and One to One Support Services goes above and beyond to make sure the people that they care for get as much time as possible.

It’s also a fabulous place to work. Not only is a care career incredibly rewarding but everyone is so happy and upbeat about what they do, it’s wonderfully refreshing to see.

If you would like to get in touch with One To One Support Services to either enquire about their services or a care career, call 01246 200018 and speak to them, they’ll do their utmost to help you.

I’d just like to say a big thank you to the guys for making me so welcome and giving me such an extraordinary life experience. I will never forget it.
